Biographical Sketch:

She is the mother of Virgil W. Manuel, but the father is unknown.
She later married Riley Cope and had 9 children with him.  She is said to have married Riley Cope twice.

She is said to be buried at Beaverdam Baptist Church, Jasper County, SC.  This church lies between the town of Grays and the town of Gillisonville.  However, her grave has not been found there.

My mother (Nelle Manuel Cox, a great-granddaughter of Mary P. Manuel) remembered a gravesite with wooden markers near the home of Virgil W. Manuel, which was said to be the place of his mother's burial.  Such wooden markers were not uncommon, and would have disappeared long ago.
