Biographical Sketch:


He was named after his grandfather, Thoroughgood Pate.  He married Frances Bright.  They had two children, one daughter was Elizabeth K. PateTheir marriage was Jan. 17, 1807, according to Marlboro County, SC probate records.  Thoroughgood was brother to Hester Pate (ca 1794-1800 - bf Nov 7, 1841).

1810 -- head of household.  He is age 26-44 and his wife is age 16-25.  A girl is under age 10 (probably Elizabeth K. Pate, born May 9, 1809).  Another woman is age 45 or older.

Thoroughgood died before his father Samuel D. Pate.  Property was left to Thoroughgood's children (as well as his deceased sister Hester's children) under terms of his father's will.
