Biographical Sketch:

He married Rebecca Matthews; they had 6 children.  George M. Harter was one son.

Other children:

Allen (1820 - >1860).  See 1850 and 1860a + 1860b .  He was killed in the Civil War, and is said to have had no descendants.
Miley Ann (1827 - ?) + ? Williams.  Miley is listed as "Miles" (male) in the 1850 census.
Saleta (1829 - >1870) + ? Lewis.  See 1860 , 1870 .
Grady (Apr 12 1835 – Dec 11 1835)
Thysbe Ann (1836 - ?) + ? Lewis
Jacob (1840 - >1860).  See 1860a + 1860b .  He was killed in the Civil War, and is said to have had no descendants.
Joel (1825 - > 1850 ) + Eliza ? (1828 - > 1850) = 8 children.  Not a proven son, but was neighbor in 1850 .
